Layer Flow Dilute Phase Conveying System

In floating flow, Layer Flow means comparatively low (Middle) gas velocity and collected powder/pellets at the bottom of conveying pipe. The Layer Flow has some advantage over Suspension Flow such as ①high mixing ratio and high conveying efficiency ② low conveying material damage ③ low conveying pipe abrasion.

On the other hand, the fault points are the line plugging can be occurred easily when the conveying condition is changed, because the gas velocity is near the conveying possible limit velocity of Floating Flow. Also, the Layer Flow and Suspension Flow are coexisting in the same line, because the gas velocity inside the conveying pipe is changed by the conveying condition (conveying capacity, distance etc). And in case of powder conveying, Layer Flow (Middle Velocity) and Dune Flow are coexisting quite often. Although the gas velocity of Layer Flow is belonged to low range for Floating Flow (Dilute Phase) basically, SANKO call Middle Velocity Conveying, to distinguish with Plug Flow and also Dune Flow. SANKO’s Middle Velocity Conveying System have good advantage to avoid some problems like ①Conveying material quality fall, Conveying pipe abrasion, occurrence of streamer by excessive velocity in end point. ②Powder remaining and Line plugging at the feeding point by shortage of gas velocity and pressure fluctuation. Plug Flow Dense Phase Conveying System

The Plug Flow conveying is one of conveying system that powder/pellets moves while forming the group like plug(slug), without floating. This conveying system has a little air consumption and high conveying efficiency , decreasing the conveying material crushing and piping abrasion . Also, there is no occurrence of streamer in case of resin pellet conveying.

Suspension (dispersion) Flow Dilute Phase Conveying System

The Floating Flow conveying is categorized Dilute phase Conveying System that the gas velocity inside conveying pipe is fast and powder/pellets move with floating.

Dune Flow Dense Phase Conveying System

The Dune Flow conveying is high density conveying system that powder/pellets moves while making slug movement with group style form like a sand dune at the bottom of conveying pipe. In the case of coarse (large) powder and pellets, the formation principle is almost similar with Plug Flow. But the difference point against Plug Flow is no closing by particle groups or very few in the section of conveying pipe.
